The Silmarillion, also the most superbly written book I have ever read! I agree with you Gildor. I'm on my third copy, the rest fell to bits.

Well...I must say, I love them all! Though Silmarillion and tRotK is still to be read.
1. - The Hobbit: A great book that contains very much of what I like in a book. That's probably why I like that the most. I simply love the story, and Tolken is a king in writing books.. he make it sounds like it have happened, and he makes so much stories around his books!
2. - LotR - The Fellowship of the Ring. Another great book! I love the story in that book too. The Black Riders, Bree, Rivendell, Moria: All fantastic parts of the book! Nuff said really.
3. - Unfinished Tales Should be in the poll imo! A great book with many great stories! Well, I can't say I've read them all, but most of them! I must say I love "Beren and Luthien".. Just for itself I think it is one of the greatest stories Tolkien hade ever written! With Morgoth in it, and the beautiful Luthien.. What can I say?
4. - LotR - The Two Towers I can't say I like this book that much as the others.. I can't keep my focus up, and it even gets boring some times. But there are also great things in also though: Helms Deep, the battle of Orthanc, Grima etc.. so it's overall a good story.
The rest Well.. I haven't read The Return of the King yet, but I'm just about starting, and I can't wait to read Silmarillion after that, and I'm going to read the rest of the Unfinished Tales too!

Of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Two Towers is my favourite. I haven't really read many of the others, but my sister has quite a lot of the other books (silmarillion, books of lost tales and other similar books) so I intend to read those while she is away at university next year... evil little sister...

[[Speaking as Amras Elensar]] mmh.....sounds good! I think I will have to read them too, if they are translated to Norwegian.. It's boring to read a whole book in English when you are from Norway.
